The Statue of Liberty is a colossal neoclassical sculpture which is situated on Liberty Island in New York Harbor in New York City, in the United States.
Statueís full name is ìLiberty Enlightening the Worldî. Statue itself is a gift to the United States from the people of France. It is usually called as one of the most famous statues in USA and in the rest of the world as well. Usually, it can be mentioned as a ìNew Yorkís and USAís symbolî or ìSymbol of Freedom and Democracyî. Statueís overall height is 93 meters, including the foundation and the pedestal. Statueís height from the top of the pedestal to the torch is 46 meters. No charge is made for entrance to the national monument, but there is a cost for the ferry service that all visitors must use, as private boats may not dock at the island at any time. The ferries depart from Liberty State Park in Jersey City and Battery Park in Lower Manhattan. At the same time, they also stop at Ellis Island when it is open to the public, making a combined trip possible. All visitors of the island must undergo a strict security screening in order to provide safety for everyone.
